The
USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Estancia Service
Center provides vital assistance to the District. The staff includes
Brad Podoll, District Conservationist and Kenneth Lujan, Soil
Conservationist; the Farm Bill Program Specialist position is vacant at this time.
The District is also supported by Dean Pritchett, Southeast Area
Engineer.
The NRCS has prepared a brochure on the provisions of the 2008 Farm Bill, including the Environmental Quality Incentives Program and the Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program. For more information on these important incentives, see the NRCS brochure.
